A great test to start your round with this opening Par 3, in full view of the clubhouse and balcony. The right hand side of the hole is heavily tree lined and further protected by green side bunkers. The green slopes steeply away to the left, providing the golfer with a range of sloping putts to test their green reading and short game prowess.

The smart play for mid / high handicappers is to lay up short of the green and play for a chip and putt.

The marker post represents the aiming line for this blind tee shot which travels downhill to a cross ditch some 200yds from the tee. Club selection is vital in order to position your ball on the flat area of fairway, leaving an easier approach shot to a green guarded by green side bunkers.

This dogleg Par 4 curves gently away from the left to right, encouraging a fade shot from the tee. A longer tee shot that goes past the fairway bunkers on the left and right leaves an approach into a narrow green which is well guarded by green side bunkers.

The Par 3 fourth can be stretched out to 225yds from our championship tee, but don’t worry, the tees for mere mortals are some 50yds ahead. The green is guarded by a bunker to the left and a pond to the right.

Shorter hitters may need to navigate their tee shot to the left of the pond, leaving a second shot lay up before the cross ditch. Longer hitters who carry the pond will have the opportunity to reach the green in two. Look to approach the green from the right-hand side of the fairway to avoid being blocked out by the trees.

A right to left dogleg Par 5 that requires an accurate tee shot aimed for the right hand side of the fairway. Longer hitters may be able to reach this green in two shots, but be warned that the green is guarded by two bunkers and slopes from left to right. A good birdie chance.

Whilst the yardage is relatively short, this small green is well defended by two deep bunkers. Hit the green with your tee shot and a makeable birdie putt awaits.

This is considered by many to be the hardest hole on the course. The tee shot needs to be hit over 190yds to enable sight of the green. From there the green is some 50ft above the level of the fairway, and so the approach plays much longer than it looks. Take two extra clubs if you can. A Par here is something to be proud of.

A nice short Par 4 that offers players a good birdie chance. The fairway slopes from left to right and great care must be taken with the approach shot to this small green. Watch out for the out-of-bounds lurking just behind the green.

A very picturesque downhill Par 4. Long hitters should look to hit a long iron or fairway wood over the trees to leave a short pitch shot onto the green. Mid / high handicappers should aim to hit between the two trees, leaving a tricky approach shot from a downhill / sidehill lie.

Tenterden Golf’s signature hole. This panoramic and elevated tee position looks down on the hole and over miles of Wealden countryside. Most players will play this hole as a ‘three shotter’ by laying up in front of the cross ditch around 80yds short of the green. Accuracy is imperative as the approach is guarded by mature trees on both the left and right.

The marker post represents the correct line for a safe tee shot on this sweeping right to left dogleg hole. However, the further right you play on the tee shot, the further your second shot to the green will be. This hole is truly a great test of shotmaking.

The tee shot on this Par 5 needs to navigate through the fairway bunkers. Longer hitters will consider going for the green, whilst shorter hitters should lay up short of the cross ditch, leaving a straightforward shot to a long green.

Two fairway bunkers on either side of the fairway await to collect the slightly errant ball on this long and testing Par 4. The green is protected by the left hand bunker which captures many an approach shot, so aim for the middle of this green. Par is an excellent score to achieve on this hole.

The green is higher than the tee, meaning that the hole plays slightly longer than it looks. A pond to the right and two green side bunkers protect this green where accuracy is paramount.

The longest hole on the course and possibly the most intimidating as it plays uphill. A real test of the golfers course management skills as firstly a cross ditch and then a pond stretch across the fairway. Once these have been navigated the golfer is left with an uphill approach shot to a sloping green guarded by two bunkers.

A brilliant finishing hole played out in front of the clubhouse balcony. A strong Par 3 played to an elevated green protected by bunkers. The green slopes much more than is first apparent from left to right and back to front, it will require a great closing putt in front of the clubhouse.
